This train journey may be many things but “boring” is not one of them. Even if you opt for a one way Moscow to Beijing ticket (6 nights on a train!) there are still plenty of things you can do! Enjoy the passing of many time zones; it is really good fun when you are trying to catch up with it!

Is Vladivostok worth visiting?
It's worth visiting. It's more of a "walk around and take it all in" sort of place, but I dug it. You could even take the train up to Khabarovsk while you are there and get a taste of what the Trans-Siberian is all about. The ferry from Korea was suspended last time I checked.
